Granite is a natural stone that has mostly been formed by magma in the Earth’s crust. As it slowly cools and crystallizes, the granite will form its unique patterns, creating breath-taking scenery of what has happened deep beneath the earth’s surface. That is what causes the variation in colour and pattern from one side of the slab to the other side. This is what makes each slab unique.

Granite comes in a wide range of colours and appearances, creating different patterns and “movements” in the slabs, which is part of the charm when buying natural stone.

Granite is a popular choice for kitchens counter tops, due to its high durability and easy to care for qualities. It won’t blister, scratch or crack easily. Granite is also known for its hygienic qualities due to it’s smooth, dense structure which means that it provides few havens for bacteria. Granite will add value to your property and leave you with a beautiful working surface in your kitchen. Granite is also widely used for reception counters, bar tops, bathroom vanities, window sills, staircases and fireplace cladding.

Quartz stone or Caesarstone is an engineered stone, and consists of between 90 to 94% quartz. It is available in a variety of colours.The uniformity and consistency of colour variation is more controlled on the textured stone. 

Due to the fact that quartz worktops contain a small percentage of resin and that they are man-made, purer lighter colours can be achieved, which is almost impossible with natural stone.

Quartz surfaces are stronger and more flexible than granite. Quartz surfaces are stain, scratch and heat resistant. The quartz worktops are also hygienic making it a suitable surface for the kitchen, which will protect your family from germs and bacteria.

Café Quartz Care & Maintenance

Café Quartz is extremely durable and easy to clean. Effortlessly cleaned with soap and warm water, Café Quartz is very stain resistant and any stubborn marks can be easily cleaned off with normal household cream cleansers and nonabrasive cleaning pads.

Although Café Quartz surfaces can withstand moderate heat, avoid placing hot pots directly onto the surface. As with most stone surfaces, a trivet should be used to avoid thermal shock and burn marks.
